Hello + a question

hi. I just happened to find these forums and I'm glad I did. Anyways, my question is: I thinking of going to the cat tales keeper school in Washington(state). Has anyone actually been there, or have any info on it?

Living in California, your best bet for a zookeeping education is at Moorpark College.

yea I have heard of them, but this place is more hands on, kinda a "pay to work/learn" type of thing. I've talked to someone who went there, although briefly, and he said its the first place he looks if he's hiring.

Moorpark (and Santa Fe) Teaching Zoos are a hands on/education degree...students are the keepers. They both have very high placement rates for their graduates and have both been around for over 30 years. Who did you talk to that spoke so highly of Cat Tales?

He was the head keeper (not sure of his title) of the big cats at the out of Africa park in Arizona, which is a pretty cool park if anyone gets a chance to go

I've met a lot of people from Moorpark College and I've heard lots of good things about it. I'm even planning of applying when I graduate from Cal Poly Pomona. I've met all those people at the LA zoo because they also volunteer there. Hey sgp, have you ever been to the LA zoo? Just wondering...:D

No I dont think so, just the parks down here in SD. I've looked at moorpark, and you need other college classes to get into that program, and then its two years. The cat tales is one year, plus I believe it specializes in the big cats, which is what I'm interested in. I got to save up the money though, so I'll have plenty of time to decide still

Oh, you being interested in big cats makes more sense you going choosing Cat Tales. Well, good luck then.
