Hi all, I’m a longtime enthusiast of zoos and am currently working toward a career in evolutionary biology. I’ve stumbled upon this forum in the past while researching the ongoings at my favorites and have decided to take the leap and make an account. Growing up, my local zoo was the Kansas City Zoo and now I’m close to both the Birmingham Zoo and Montgomery Zoo, although I would rather drive the extra distance to visit the Georgia Aquarium so I’ll claim that as my new local zoological institution.

I’m excited to be a part of the Zoochat community.

Welcome to Zoochat, Dactyloa. There are several scientists here, and good to have another. I've not been to the Georgia Aquarium, but would like to see their whale shark exhibit someday. Their new shark exhibit looks like it will be quite large also.

If you're ever in the Atlanta area, I would strongly recommend visiting the Georgia Aquarium. It's atmosphere is more tourist-y/juvenile than the Shedd Aquarium, but the Ocean Voyager tank is probably my favorite exhibit in any zoo or aquarium.

I'm a little late to the party, but welcome!
