Hi all,
I'm Nicolas, 30 years old (+ a few years of experience) and Belgian. I live mid-way between Brussels and Namur meaning that I have quite nice zoos/parks located at a 60-90-min driving distance: Antwerpen, Planckendael, Han sur Lesse but also some in the Netherlands (Gaia Zoo and Beekse Bergen), France (Amneville, Maubeuge) or even Germany (Kolner Zoo, Krefeld and all the zoos located in the Ruhr area are not that far). Pairi Daiza is not so far, I have an annual pass there but I always considered it as a theme park with animals.
I travel a lot for my work (nothing zoo-related) so I had the opportunity to visit zoos abroad (San Diego, Singapore,...)
My favorite animal is, without any doubt, the Malaysian Sun Bear (unfortunately, there is no sun bear in Belgium).
I like to observe (and learn about) not-so-frequent species (recently, I took picture of the side-striped jackals in ZieZoo, the Coquerell sifaka in Kölner Zoo and the white-striped dorcopsis in Pairi Daiza)
With my girlfriend, we like to travel/visit zoos/take pictures (a lot of zoos and wildlife photography - we are birdwatchers). When we stay home, we play board and video games (Ark Nova) and spend time editing our pictures.
I'm excited to be here, hope to have fun and learn a lot
