Hey there,

I joined quite some time ago but never managed to introduce myself.
I am Pyrrhula from Germany, and I love visiting zoos and natural history museums ever since I was little. I am a geological preparator working at Aquazoo Löbbecke Museum Düsseldorf, so I have 'the best of both worlds'. :D
I am an avid photographer, trying to get as many species and breeds as possible on picture.
As you can see on my profile picture, I really like ungulates, but also cetaceans, reptiles and birds! Another great interest of mine are livestock breeds, especially old and endangered ones, and I am (slowly but steady :D) working on building a website/database about them.

But enough about me, I am looking forward to talking to you guys :).

Welcome to ZC! Very interested in Aquazoo Duesseldorf; the place is crammed with rarities ;)!
I see you've seen Krefeld's Mountain anoa (if you took your profile pic) - did you also see Baby the River dolphin at Duisburg before he died?

Interesting about the livestock breeds, I've never been particularly into livestock but I'm sure the different breeds are very interesting in their own right and good luck on your website :).

Let me know if you ever happen to visit Aquazoo! :D
Yes, I have seen the Anoa quite a few times, last time was actually just two weeks ago. Baby was my favorite animal at Duisburg, I had the privilege of seeing him on a regular basis (until corona happened, of course) and I am still saddened by his loss. He was auch a lovely creature, often interacting with the visitors and really playful.
Thank you :)

Welcome to ZooChat Pyrrhula, great to have you here!
How cool that you are working at Aquazoo, I still need to visit it...
Do you also have a favorite livestock breed?

Hmm I have quite a few favorites I must admit.. Pustertaler Sprinze is a really beautiful breed of cattle, so is the English longhorn! For sheep and goats my favorites are Hebridean, Herdwick, Valais Blacknose, Tauernschecke.. too many! :D And I really love all kinds of draft horses and also 'baroque' breeds like the Kladruber.
