Hi, I’m Margaret, I live in Hawkhurst, Kent. Apparently Henry Fothergill had a menagerie on the fields that were my playground as a child. The land remained undeveloped until the early eighties when a nursing home was built on it. The pond at the bottom remains, along with some old concrete ponds and walls. I always wondered what was there and thanks to this site I’ve found out! If anyone has any more information or pictures I would be very grateful.
