I have been looking for a captive African civets, especially around the US. I had found one at a Zoo, in New Jersey, that was confiscated from a private (illegal) owner, but she died from her previous injuries.:(. I would love to see one up close, most of the research on them have been on captive animals. I have seen them in the wild, and they are very elusive.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows of one or has seen one recently anywhere.
Thanks

African Civets in Zoos

On this side of the Atlantic, Jersey bred them to several generations and amassed a lot of knowledge/expertise, some of it published in the DODO and probably International Zoo Yearbook as well. They don't keep them any more.

Thanks FBBird.. yeah I read those papers. I am interested in their success rates, when in Ethiopia they are still using wild caught civets. I suppose their preference for males influences their cost-benefit perception of captive breeding.
