I'm a long time zoo visitor for enjoyment and to indulge my hobbies of photography and drawing.
I live very close to Marwell, and as a small child, visited from the opening in the early 1970s with my very indulgent grandparents. Also used to visit the Southampton Zoo that closed in the 1980s on a regular basis.
Unfortunately, due to illness, I haven't been able to visit as often as I would like recently, but I have in previous years visited quite a few collections in the South including; Longleat, Windsor Safari Park, Whipsnade, London, Chessington, Colchester, Isle of Wight, Birdworld, New Forest Owl Sanctuary, and many others.
I have kept some exotic pets in the past although now I just have 2 very cosseted moggies.
My interest in zoos and wildlife has also led to my interest in cryptozoology and the discovery of unknown species.
