Four wildcat kittens have been born at the Saving Wildcats conservation breeding for release centre at the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland’s (RZSS) Highland Wildlife Park:

A vicuna with a tooth issue has received a visit from the dentist at Highland Wildlife Park. The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland’s (RZSS) vet team undertook the procedure to address Lino’s lower incisors, which were growing forwards instead of upwards:

Hi, can you give an update on the Amur leopards that were at the park. I've tried to follow them since 2018 but the news is so sparse. The last I heard in 2023 was that the father was sent to another zoo, one cub was put to sleep and the second cub and mother were still at the park. But that was 2 years ago. Any update is appreciated.

Father Freddo moved to the Big Cat Sanctuary in 2019. He then moved to Bellewaerde in Belgium in 2020 and to Dartmoor Zoo in 2023.

Mother Arina moved to Seoul Zoo in Korea in early 2024.

The cub Katya moved to Zoo de La Boissière du Doré in France at the beginning of 2025.

Highland Wildlife Park has three Amur tigers: 14-year-old male Botzman, 16-year-old female Dominika and their 4-year-old daughter Nishka.

The female Layla moved to Knuthenborg Safari Park in Denmark last summer. The male Aleksander moved to Tallinn Zoo in Estonia in 2024.

The park has announced that 19 Scottish wildcats have been released into the Cairngorm National Park so far this year.

Our veterinary team and keepers made the hard decision to put him to sleep as age-related issues began to impact his quality of life,
With us since 2017, Sven was a wonderful ambassador for his wild relatives and brought joy to keepers, staff and visitors. His daughters, Lumi and Kesä, continue to live here with mum Freya. He will be greatly missed."

According to social media Brodie the Polar bear temporary leaving highland life wildlife park in December to move to Yorkshire wildlife park where his brother is currently staying while renovation work goes on in his enclosure. Walker and Arktos will still be visible
