I've just been reading about a Hornbill 'Pox' which has recently been discovered. Apparently its known in the form of a virus carried by several Hornbill species and while it doesn't affect them, it can be lethal to other species of birds, like bird flu.
Its been recommended European zoos now take all their Hornbills off exhibit, placing them in strict quarantine- or, in the case of less valuable ones, even euthanasing them to safeguard their other birds.
