housing for b&g macaws

Hi,
I have a pair of b&g macaws which I have had for 7 years. I would love to build them an outside house and flight. Can anybody tell me the best materials to use and if they would tolerate our outside temps in the uk?

Hi lyn,
Im pretty decent with parrots but Ive never housed large macaws. They can deal with Uk temps so long as they have heated indoor housing in the winter. A decent gauge of wire and an aluminium fram are in order

Depends. Flighted or clipped ??

If flighted ,a large aviary constructed from metal rods with a sturdy stucco wire/hardware cloth. Lots of natural branches. Leave a space for flight room. Add bird safe plants/trees if possible. Give them heated winter quarters attached to the main flight ,a heated shed with a few branches will do.
