How often do you visit your "home zoo"? How long do you stay?

I go to the San Diego Zoo at least twice a week. I spend about 4-5 hours there when I go alone, (less if I bring the grandkids). I have met many others at the zoo that come more often than I do. There are a few "regulars" that have been coming for more than 20 years. I feel fortunate that because I come so often I have been able to see most all the animals on exhibit. I think I see some new animal behavior each time I go.

Well, mine is John Ball Zoo and I go twice a week. You are so lucky to have one of the best zoos in the country!

I visit twycross (uk) about twice a month on average, but at some times of the year I go more than this. I am usually there from 10 till 5, though sometimes I pop in for 3 or 4 hours.

I don't get to visit that much, but Beardsley every month/other month. I started this routine this year, and I've already visited more times this year than last year. I normally stay at Beardsley for 1.5-2.5 hours.
Normally, I rotated a once a year visit between Mystic and Maritime, but now I'm trying to visit both in one year. The only problem with not visiting Mystic often are the prices and how far it is away from my home.

My home zoo (which is actually the zoo closest to my heart, not geographically as Blackduiker says on his profile :)) is the Bronx Zoo, although my visits are very sporadic. Prior to this year, it was no more than twice a year, believe it or not. Although I do have membership now, I've only been twice in 2012 as money has now become the main issue (funny, because doesn't membership make everything cost less? :D haha). But now that I have finished final exams in school, and summer vacation is quickly approaching, I will be anticipating much more frequent visits, including visits to the 4 other WCS institutions of which I have not been to!

And what region of Connecticut do you live in, BZF, if you don't mind me asking?

Even after my move, I still consider my home zoos the ones in Buffalo and Rochester, NY. For the Buffalo Zoo, when I was a member, I would be there at least once a week, if not more. I would spend at least two hours there per visit, but they consisted more of 3-4 hours. I find with small zoos like Buffalo and Maryland, in this time frame when you have seen it all, you can keep going back to a certain animal to see if they are doing anything different. For Seneca Park Zoo, it only takes me a couple of hours since it is so small.

For my now "local" zoos, as mentioned I spend a view hours at the Maryland Zoo and revisit areas. For Smithsonian National Zoo, I have been known to only spend a couple hours there, but that's only if I plan to do other things in the city or due to timing and trying to avoid rush hour. But to throughly see it all and be at my own pace, that zoo can take me four hours or more. For both of these zoos, I only visit once every couple to a few months. It's quite a change having the previous opportunity to visit Buffalo Zoo whenever I wanted. It definitely makes the visit more special, but it also makes me want to visit a zoo every day off I get, which I know is not always possible.

Cleveland Zoo 1-2 times a week
Akron Zoo Once a month
Columbus Zoo 8-10 visits a year
Toledo Zoo 8-10 visits a year
Pittsburgh Zoo 3-4 visits per year
Detroit Zoo 3-4 visits per year

These are the zoos we consider our home zoos.

Brookfield Zoo once a month
Lincoln Park Zoo once every two to three years. Never really opens new exhibits and kind of get boring.
