There is a local zoo in Austin that is a rescue zoo. I like the San Antonio Zoo but my favorite is the Dallas World Aquarium. Just got back from visiting there last weekend and also went by the Fort Worth Zoo and saw their new Museum Of Living Art (MOLA) very nice. Dan

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome to Zoochat. Need to post some pictures of DWA(Dallas World Aquarium). I like to look at the plants at zoos as well as the animals. DWA rainforest has such a great interaction of plants with animals that it makes you feel that you really are visiting a rainforest.
