Indian lion conservation

An interesting read. Once again, another example of politics and money getting in the way of action.

Let's hope the translocation materialises sooner rather than later.

Translocation( or talk of it) of some Lions from the Gir Forest has been on the cards for thirty years or more now- but still it hasn't happened.

On a somewhat related topic, there is an excellent book on Asian lions that I recently read. (Well the first couple chapters are a bit dry, but the second half is excellent).

This is the same author who several years earlier wrote a good book on the story of India's cheetahs.
