Nuremberg zoo are expecting their 3rd Indian rhino calf to Purana, due very soon, this calf will follow Albrecht now at CERZA, and Hans now at Sosto, Hungary
 
At long last, another female Indian rhino born within the EEP/EAZA area.

On top of this the sire is very important to the breeding programme as he has enabled a previous full Basel lineage pairing to be broken up. In addition, it has allowed the old Whipsnade line to become more represented in the EEP population.

So, the calf is more out-bred than most or less inbred than most ... whichever way you look at it!!! ;)
 
photos show this calf has a white(unpigmented)foreleg. This occurred also with Suci, the female calf of Sumatran Emi but I think the marking fades with age as Suci does not seem to have this now..
