A recent study on the impacts of domestic and feral dogs in India has recorded 80 species of Indian wildlife being attacked by dogs, of which 31 are listed under a threatened category on the IUCN Red List. Among those species affected were great Indian bustard, Bengal florican, Chinese pangolin, green sea turtle, Himalayan goral, Asiatic wild ass, red panda and golden langur.

Worldwide, domestic dogs have been linked to 11 total extinctions of wildlife and have imperilled 188 threatened species worldwide.
