BärenPark Bern Information on old original bear pits wanted.

Can anyone tell me ;
1) when the FIRST pit was built ?
2) When did Dahlolhli Zoo FIRST start looking after the bears ?
The zoo opened in 1927, so was it from the start of the zoo opening ??
There was possibly one "bear keeper" - can anyone confirm ??

The first bear pit in zoo could be that one at the Menagerie Jardin des Plantes in Paris, opened in 1805 and still in use today-but not for bears-of course-but for binturongs and Red pandas. Most other zoos copied it, until it was replaced for the bear castles-the first of them was opened at Berlin Zoo 1844.

Bib - I meant the first Bear pit in Berne itself.
