Infrastructure Projects inside Nepal's Wildlife Reserves

Nepal's nature threatened by new development push: conservationists.

So apparently, the government of Nepal passed an ordinance allowing them to approve hydropower and hotel construction inside protected wildlife areas.

Because they've increased both their rhino and tiger populations, you'd think they'd take pride in that. Welp, apparently not. And with them doing this, I've got a feeling they'll take control of wildlife censuses to control the thoughts and feelings of people do they can continue to cater to these special interests.

Not a fan of hydropower, but hotels in protected areas aren't necessarily a bad thing if planned correctly. It can offer a great source of tourism revenue to go into the land management.

Or they can be built outside protected areas and not even worry about it.

Inside the area provides a lot of opportunities not necessarily possible within the area. Think of something like a lodge in a national park.
Protected areas in Nepal, as far as I understand, aren't as big as say, Yellowstone or the Everglades. If anything, they're pretty small as is the case with most of India's national parks.

Infrastructure developments have a higher chance of negatively affecting wildlife in smaller protected areas. And this developers have to be more careful in those circumstances. Especially if they end up building a lot of them.
