New news thread for this small collection.

First up, a little info on the Centre's oldest resident...

It is with heavy hearts that we had to say farewell to Toto yesterday, our oldest Little Blue Penguin.
Toto was born on December 6, 1990 at Marineland in Napier, and moved to the International Antarctic Centre in 2007. At 25 years and 4 months old she was the oldest Little Blue Penguin in the world, the average life expectancy in the wild is 6 to 7 years.
Toto had a sweet personality and was a visitor favourite. She will be sadly missed by her boyfriend Danny, who she has been with for over ten years, as well as all our other penguins, penguin keepers and staff at the International Antarctic Centre.
Rest In Peace Toto
