Blue Planet Aquarium Is Blue Planet Aquarium worth a visit?

Hello, planning a visit to Chester this summer, I saw there was an aquarium very nearby. Is it worth the time for me to stay for 2 days and visit the Blue Planet Aquarium as well?

According to ZTL, it has the only azure parrotfish, chola guitarfish and rock hind in Europe. It is one of 3 ZTL collections with schoolmaster snapper.

I haven't been there in years but it is pretty decent, nothing amazing. If you are there and have spare time and money go for it.

Listed Blue Planet for the 4th time in the past 10 years, and first for 5 years. It looks tired and unkempt. Some obvious things can be sorted quite easily with a lick of paint and the trim pf a hedge.

Inside is a similar story of a place that is run down. The cost of entry is high and for an Easter holiday it was quiet inside, are they pricing themselves out of more visitors?

My lads love the collection and there seems to be a n increasing number of reptile species dispersed across the whole collection. Nice to see the Caimans have grown considerably since my last visit. This is still a worth while collection to visit but I do worry about its future if they aren't bothered or can't afford to sort out the increasing number of issues.

It is only the cost of entry that would put me off visiting again.

The price always puts me off, would go alot more if cheaper, always liked the place, I did voluntary time there as a Aquarist for a year, 1 day a week after work experience from Uni.

Maybe a sceme to offer chester zoo members discounted entry would boost numbers, or Chester zoo take it on as another revenue source.

I agree the price doesn't help, I live locally and everyone I've ever talked to about it says the same thing, that they would go more if it wasn't so expensive. I haven't been in a long time and was looking to go recently but it did put me off as well.
