Chester Zoo Is it true?

Hi everyone I have heard from friends that apparently Chester are getting a new Female Cheetah today. Does anyone know if this is true and if it is where has this new cheetah come from and whats her name. I am also sad as if this is true then we maybe saying bye to KT sooner then I thought.

If what I was told was correct she should have arrived yesterday. I believe she came in from Sharjah. Not sure why you think this means KT will be leaving, what is your reasoning for thinking Chester only want to hold one female?

Female Cheetahs are solitary animals. they would only go to the boys when in season an I am not aware that two females would get on well together. Also if they keep both females then that will be all three enclosures that the public can see being used.

there is a total of 4 enclosures :) so they can keep the extra female

There are the two main enclosures, plus the enclosure to the other side of the bridge. A further strip of land runs along the back of the two main enclosures and this can be split into 3 further enclosures if needed.

Chester certainly have space to house more than one female and that is the plan, so no worries there.

:DOne more female ex Sharjah, UAE just widens Chester's options for breeding. I hope we will within the year or so have good news on pitter patter from either female .... (as Whipsnade have just had theirs).
