News for the new Jakarta Bird Land Park, which will be opening soon later this year or early 2023 in Ancol, near Ocean Dream Samudera. The park was built on the former site of the Scorpion Pirates show, supposedly succeeding an aviary in Gelanggang Samudera (what ODS was back in the early days) prior to its closure due to avian influenza epidemic. Sadly, the original aviary was already lost media and neither me, @Nandito nor @Caribbean Flamingo found any traces of it.

The park's teaser, showing all of the park's mascot (a white pelican, a sulphur-crested cockatoo, a white-bellied sea eagle, a rhinoceros hornbill and pink-necked green pigeon), all being Indonesian endemic/native birds bar the pelican, which is a cosmopolitan species. Really hoping this park could be way better than Taman Mini's bird park, which feels a bit too old and the aviaries are too sparse in plantation.
