actually a white-faced scops owl from South Africa. Very cool video from a Japanese game-show of some sort

Interesting. White-faced scops owls are found throughout most of tropical Africa - and the distributions of the African barn owl and Verreaux's eagle owl are also virtually the same. These interactions must happen every night!
