Can confirm purple-crested turaco still in collection, but a devil to photograph. I had to sneak around the back of Royal Ramble and even then the photos weren't great

There was a purple-crested turaco at River Safari (River Wonders exhibit) during my visit last month. I had assumed it was moved from Jurong but it seems both parks have one each.
 
I'm probably visiting the bird park around this month. Any must see stuff besides raptors, penguins, flamingos, pelicans, and ratites? Next, are the ostriches still there and where are the owls? Can't see them in the map
 
Spix macaw, philippine eagle and Santa Cruz Ground Dove are high up on my list.(I will visit next week)

Owls are not on show after the night house is closed.

There should be ostrich in dinosaur descentant?

World of Darkness (owl exhibit) is permanently closed. Some of the owls are now displayed at Night Safari. Ostriches are at the Zoo now.

Oh well...but the eagles are still there which is okay
 
Also some nice passerines, including a pair of Coleto mynas in Wings of Asia. It seemed every time I went in I saw something new.
 
It is a little bit surprise to see two new birds stay with shoebill together, Boat-billed heron and white-bellied stork.

Singapore news channel CNA has produced a 50-minute documentary chronicling Jurong's inner workings as it begins preparations to move to its new site in Mandai. While the documentary doesn't contain much new information (it was filmed in July this year), it still provides an interesting look behind-the-scenes and at the challenges in constructing the new park. There will likely be follow-up episodes in the future as the new park takes shape.

Recent additions to the park:

Chaco Chacalaca (Ortalis canicollis); housed with Hyacinth Macaws at Parrot Paradise

Blue-winged Macaw (Primolius maracana); also with the Hyacinths - Jurong now holds all extant macaw species, although not all are currently on display

Red and Blue Lory (Eos histrio); juvenile on display at the Breeding and Research Centre, its parents are kept off show

Spotted Imperial Pigeon (Ducula carola); at Wings of Asia

Golden-crested Myna (Ampeliceps coronatus); at Wings of Asia
