Keystone Safari Keystone Safari News

Birth of 1 (probably generic) Giraffe.
Keystone Safari on Instagram: "IT’S A GIRL We are thrilled to announce the birth of a female giraffe calf, delivered on Friday at 9:00 AM! Born to proud parents Levi and Blue Jeans, this little giant is making a big entrance - tipping the scales at 154 pounds and already standing nearly 6 feet tall. This is the fourth calf for our resident giraffes, who were raised at Living Treasures Wild Animal Park in New Castle before moving to the safari in late 2018. Levi and Blue Jeans are already proud parents to Calvin (2017), Timber (2021), and Keyari (2023). Keystone Safari’s animal care team closely observed the birth, allowing space for mom and baby to bond naturally. After a successful first nursing and some well-deserved rest, the park’s veterinarian and senior staff conducted a thorough first wellness exam. We’re happy to report the calf is healthy with no initial concerns. To celebrate, Keystone Safari is launching a naming contest for the new arrival! Each guest that pays for park admission will receive one free entry into the naming contest (held at the giraffe barn). The contest will run through Labor Day - after the contest ends, staff will select the winning name, and the winner will receive two season passes to the park. Guests may view our giraffe family in the giraffe barn, where mom and baby will have the choice to be on display or retreat to the private back area as needed. Out of respect for the new family, visitors are asked to speak softly. The barn may close for 15-30 minutes throughout the day to allow quiet time for nursing and rest. During these breaks, guests may still view the giraffes through the designated observation windows. Stay tuned on our social media channels for updates, photos, and videos as our newest giraffe grows and thrives at the park!"
