An e-mail from the RZSS has confirmed the birth of a kiang at the park, Pertinax according to the first breedings list on the Bartlett society website, the first kiang born in Britain was born in the late 1890's at Woburn.
fascinating- never knew Woburn had kept them. I'll bet there haven't been any breedings for many decades since Woburn's died out though- the RZSS Kiangs are the first I know of in the UK in my 'zoo lifetime'.
