Killer Whales: Beneath the Surface

Natural World have really been knocking it out of the park this season. Very interesting documentary.

It's focus is on wild Killer Whales but there is also information and footage of Moby Doll and Morgan. Takes a pretty neutral stance but leans anti-captivity.

I really liked the information on how all the different races/subspecies/species of killer whales relate. And I never knew Morgan was deaf.

I agree completely, it was an hour very well spent. There was plenty of new information and splendid photography too. A few scenes would disturb squeamish pinniped lovers, but in spite of their name, killer whales are not very well equipped for killing large prey quickly. Perhaps it's as well that great white sharks don't have orcas' brains and orcas don't have great whites' teeth ;)

I found this episode absolutely brilliant and learnt a lot I didn't know about races/subspecies of orca! Really one of the best episodes of natural world I have seen.
