This weekend we are open as usual to bookings only. However we have decided to do a discount to zoo association members and members of this forum. Anybody booking with me can simply mention this forum or their zoo association membership of any zoo in the UK and they will recieve 20% discount on the gate entrance. For those who are not aware of us please visit Welcome to the King Cobra Sanctuary or e mail me at mark@kingcobrasanctuary.com or call me on 07508797010.

We currently have 2 nesting females and already 18 fertile eggs within our incubator, so its a great time to visit.

Kind Regards

I went on Sunday. It's an amazing place and the cobras are spectacular when they are out of their enclosures.

I was very interested in the common adders.

The staff are extremely knowledgeable and very friendly and I thought it was a really good day out.

My thoughts exactly, very friendly people and very fascinating animals - see photos from zoogiraffe and myself in the 'United Kingdom - Other' gallery if anybody is interested, and I certainly recommend a visit to everybody.

"Cobras" and "out of their enclosures" don't seem like words one wants to see in the same sentence (e.g., media brouhaha about the escaped cobra at the Bronx Zoo earlier this year).

How does this work exactly?!

It does seem like an interesting facility.

They're out of their enclosures to the extent that they're in a "working area" which gives more space for the keepers to interact with them. It's surrounded by windows which allow the public (on the safe side of them) to view the activity safely. The keepers are very experienced professionals and fully in control of the situation at all times (otherwise they probably wouldn't be here anymore).

Besides, I wouldn't worry about these beauties getting lost, they're huge -you can't miss 'em:D

Hi there, i understand your concern but like has been stated our Kings are "released" into a snake proof large working area whilst we are either cleaning their enclosures or indeed doing a King cobra demonstration. There is a four foot tall glass divider from snake to public, we also always have two handlers in the area at anytime a snake is being handled.

Please visit Welcome to the King Cobra Sanctuary to see more of our work.

Maybe I could have phrased it better. As Shorts said the cobras are still in a secure area.
