I'm going here tomorrow for a VIP experience with Tapir, Meerkats and Otters.

Not seen it mentioned on here but the Zoo now has a breeding pair of Scottish Wildcats on show.

Could you look and see how many Black wildebeest they have currently?( and sexes, any calves etc)

Of course I will. There used to be two, One boy and one girl and you could say the boy was a bit special ! but I'll update after tomorrow.

Can confirm there is 3 Black Wilderbeast, Brian the dopey male, the female and the male calve who is about 5 months old.

Sadly both the baby Zebra who were born last November died shortly afterwards. I hadn't seen this reported anywhere.

Scottish Wildcat are two female, only Indoor exhibit is complete, work has started on outdoor exhibit.

Great Grey Owl's have left the collection.

One of the Mountain Cattle has died, and the remaining female is now off show.

Wild Boar are in their former exhibit, and in the Wild Boar exhibit is A mother and her 9!!! Tamworth Piglets

Hornbill has joined collection but currently off show. A very beautiful Durango Mountain Pine Snake is currently off show, but I got to see it today, an absolutely beautiful snake.

The park and neighbouring hall plan to create a Deer Park over the next couple of years on the adjacent land, which will be managed by the Zoo and are considering using one of the Large paddocks behind the woodland for European Bison at some stage in the future.

The Capuchin's have new indoor housing which has public viewing.

The only exhibit currently being worked on is the Scottish Wildcat, and then it will be the Deer Park, with the potential for Bison over the next 2/3 years.

They are setting up a 'Red Panda Fun' which sees new keeper talks, raffles, information boards and crafting days. All of the proceeds made from this will go to the Red Panda Network.

This is the current list of animals that the Lake District wildlife park has, this was recorded today. The main enclosures are just the enclosures in the middle area that are not in a designated section of the park. Enjoy and feel free to ask questions about the park, as I was there today so can remember lots.

They did have another bird of prey species, but the enclosure was off show and I couldn’t see it. Also, I’m not sure whether they have tawny eagles due to them not being on show today and having no aviary on show to the public.

Been a while since anyone updated this collection.

They are currently revamping the old Golden Eagle enclosure, which is partially off-show to turn into a new aviary for the eagles currently in the collections.
There is an enclosure being built by the Wildcats to be a new aviary for the Eurasian Eagle Owl.

There are a good number of Zebra now in the plains exhibit, 6/7 and a couple of these are youngsters.
They still have two Black Wildebeest including Brian the slightly eccentric one.

They are phasing out Asian Small Clawed Otter, and have completely redone the enclosure which is now a lot larger and they are awaiting the arrival of Smooth Coated Otters for this enclosure.

Currently no Capybara at the collection, but they are hoping they can get in an unrelated pair to go back in the pond area.

Was a number of Wild Boar Piglets which looked no more than a month old.

Singular female wildcat has access to both enclosures

The old Mandrill enclosure has been revamped and will be welcoming a group of Bush Dogs soon, the collection no longer houses Mandrill.

The zoo is currently down to one Red Panda and the tree has fallen down in the exhibit. They are planning to bring in another Red Panda, plus linking the enclosure to the trees in the Smooth Coated Otter exhibit, to give them more arboreal access.

There was a couple of baby Bagot Goats as well.

I visit this place a couple of times a year, and the last time I went was in March. The only things I would note from this visit was the signage for both the polecats and the guinea pigs had been removed, so I guess they don't have either any more. I think I'll wait until the smooth-coated otters and bush dogs arrive before I visit again, but it's good to hear the old mandrill enclosure has now been revamped, because work hadn't started yet when I was last there. I did see a post on their Instagram saying they recently acquired 0.2 striped skunks, which appear to be living in the old polecat enclosure.

Definitely saw Guinea Pigs when I went, as took a photo of one.

It's been a while since I last visited here, so I looked around for any recent news, and found this article from a couple of days ago saying the zoo have acquired two white-tailed eagles from Welsh Mountain Zoo:
Two white-tailed eagles land at Lake District Wildlife Park
I might wait until next Spring before I visit again, as I'm still waiting for news about the bush dogs and smooth-coated otters they're also due to get soon.
