Some news from the park :
- the park opened a new 1.800 square meters aviary called "Hokkaïdo Giants" where Steller's sea-eagles and white-tailed sea-eagles are put together,
- it welcome white-bellied sea-eagles what signify that Beauval is no longer the only place in Europe where you can see the species.
- hatching of two secretary bird chicks.
 
A bad world first for the park : two hybrids Rueppell's griffon vultur x eurasian griffon vultur hatched during spring.
It arrived in a mixed aviary where you can find 8 Rueppell's and 10 eurasian griffon vulturs with no problems before.
The owner explains there were five previous hybrid births registered in nature in Spain before. For him it is alsoni line with the climate change which saw Rueppell's griffon vultures going to live Europe in the last years.

Opening next saturday of the "Condor City", a complex of aviaries dedicated to South American birds of prey : Andean condor, king vulture, black vulture, turkey vulture, lesser yellow headed vulture, caracaras...

And a new species : Greater yellow headed vulture (Cathartes melambrotus), unique in Europe !
