Chester Zoo Lily the Red Panda

I dont disagree about Lily being in the breeding programme, I think its great for the Red Panda captive population. I just felt sad that she wasnt going to be in the UK. (I've missed her every time I've visited Lushui and Pali recently, when I knew Lily was somewhere in the back of the zoo) I think I'll be planning a holiday to Sweden in the near future :) :P

Just think how even MORE excited you'll be when Pali & Lushui have another cub then :D

Im not holding my breath for more cubs this year, they didnt seem to show much mating displays, well not that I could see :)

Well if they had kept the cub with them then you would have had an even longer wait for anymore cubs,as the female will not mate if the previous cub is still about!!!

Lily - is going to Sweden

Was at the zoo on Friday and staff confirmed that Lily will move in a few weeks to Sweden. Mum was eating lots of extra bamboo so they are very hopeful !

Lily at SDZ

The San Diego Zoo has a new exhibit, I think it's called Asian Trail. They have a young panda named "Lily" and I think that she is a new arrival. There is a video of her on their site (I think it's sandiegozoo.org). She's supposed to be getting a mate soon. If this is the Chester Zoo Lily, she really lucked out. The SDZ is a great place, one of the top zoos in the U.S. :)
