I have visited Zooteurliste and found like I did with Dudley Zoo there appears to be quite a few missing.(this is not having a go at the site as I find it a very good site).
I would be very grateful for any input from people who have visited in the past and could remember some of the species that are missing from my list.

My Dudley list will be completed by September 2010 if anyone would like a copy then P/M me and I will gladly send a copy to you

Many thanks in advance for your help

Is this list going to include the stock of "Birmingham Zoo" before it became the Nature Centre or only those under the place's current identity?

It will include the species at Birmingham Zoo
This was going to be my next project but as someone else as p/m me and asked the same question I will now be running the two together

Adrian - I'd strongly recommend keeping a note of the scientific names on this kind of project - the Nature Centre has had a fair old number of groups like reptiles and rodents where common names can be rather vague.

Just had a check through my photo record - from that list, the absentees would be:

Cairo Spiny Mouse (Acomys cahirinus)
Roman Goose (Anser anser)
European Wood Mouse (Apodemus sylvaticus)
Giant Black Millipede (Archispirostreptus gigas)
Thai Stick Insect (Baculum thaii)
Pacific Tree Boa (Candoia carinata)
Bagot Goat (Capra hircus)
Canadian Beaver (Castor canadensis)
Arizona Mountain Kingsnake (Lampropeltis pyromelana knoblocki)
Barbary Grass Mouse (Lemniscomys barbarus)
Desert Locust (Locusta migratoria)
Tiger Beetle (Mantithorax sp.)
Golden (Syrian) Hamster (Mesocricetus auratus)
Icelandic Sheep (Ovis aries)
Jacob Sheep (Ovis aries)
Spotted Fruit Beetle (Pachnoda aemula)
Black and Yellow Fruit Beetle (Pachnoda flaviventris)
Marginated Fruit Beetle (Pachnoda marginata peregrina)
Roborovski's Dwarf Hamster (Phodopus roborovskii)
Hairy-footed Hamster (Phodopus sungorus)
Bull Snake (Pituophis melanoleucas sayi)
Brown Rat (Rattus norvegicus)
European Fire Salamander (Salamandra salamandra)
Sudanese Spiny-tailed Lizard (Uromastyx dispar)
Moroccan Spiny-tailed Lizard (Uromastyx geyri)
Ocellated Spiny-tailed Lizard (Uromastyx ocellatus)
White-throated Monitor (Varanus albogularis)
Timor Monitor (Varanus timorensis)

In addition, they now have Ring-tailed Coatis (Nasua nasua). I'm going to have a check for some notes and come back to you with a few more reptiles.
