I'm not too suprised that nothing is known about it considering that it is a rodent and occurrs in the marshlands of Iraq (weren't these almost entirely drained by Saddam Hussein ? ).

Rodents (outside of Europe and North America) really dont really tend to fare well in terms of research or conservation.

Think of how many obscure rodents , shrews and moles there are on the EDGE species mammal list and how few of these even have a picture.
