This small aquarium, began as an education outreach program in 1999. A preview center with aquatic exhibits opened in a Utah mall in 2004. And its popularity grew so much that the aquarium relocated to a larger building in Sandy, UT. Since 2004, the Living Planet Aquarium has been trying to acquire funding for a more permenant home in Northern Utah.
In the meantime, the aquarium is expanding to include Neotropical species next year.
