Maybe it was because I had heard how great it was and it didn't match the expectation that my mind had built up. I honestly didn't see any of those animals just a few birds, maybe the men up the ladder had scared them away. There were animals in small cages around the side of the rainforest, I've no idea if they have access to the rainforest area or somewhere outside, if they dont it was a small area to live in.

Chizlit, whilst you're entitled to your opinion I think you're being a little over-harsh (maybe you expected too much?). Whilst I agree that London has some (and some severe) weak spots, as have all zoos, I think it's a little unfair to rate it lower than Dudley.

Did you get to see the Reptile House, the Bird House or BUGS? These, in my opinion, are amongst the best exhibits of their type in the country and elevate the whole zoo considerably.

Yes you are right, I did expect too much, I assumed the zoo would have kept pace with the likes of Chester but it hasn't.
I thus gave it a lower mark than Dudley becuase I can see the huge progress that zoo has made, it doesn't mean that Dudley is a better zoo, just on the day London didn't do it for me.
I'll admit I didn't go into Bugs and and I'm not a reptile fan so cant comment.
