Seems like good news. I like the fact that improved visibility of the hunting dogs and warthogs is a priority, as that was certainly an issue, although I am not sure how they will do it, as (particularly in the case of the warthogs) the real issue was the angle of the viewing, with the animals being quite far below you, so I am not sure how they can improve upon this without extensively redesigning the area or offering a new pathway between the enclosures and the canal. It will be interesting to see how they approach this.

EDIT: And regarding the Three-banded Armadillos that @amur leopard mentioned upthread, where were they kept before the recent move to Night Life? Were they kept offshow in the Cassons (which is where the Big Hairy Armadillos are) or onshow in Rainforest Life, and am I right in thinking which they were sometimes used in presentations on the Displays Lawn?

Really pleased that these works are going ahead. I hope this is just the start of a consolidation of existing infrastructure, which is sorely needed - and recognized as such at the 2023 AGM.

A few things I forgot to add to my previous post:

Rainforest Life was closed on my visit.
According to ZTL 3.3 Laos warty newts have arrived from Newquay.

Excellent news regarding the newts! Hopefully they will be going on display in the new Reptile House!
