I was just curious if anyone knew when the display lawn was put in place as I’m struggling to find anything that would suggest a date

it was on my mind as I didn’t know if they still did shows and if they did quite surprised as lots of zoos are stopping their shows or if they are continuing them, scaling them back to show only things that may be required (I e seal shows showing the seals lifting a paw incase they needed to do a check up)

The display lawn is used for

Super species live
Get up close and personal with astonishing species from around the world and find out how their natural behaviours help them the thrive in wild.

Scheduled upto twice daily in main season , normally daily weekends and school holidays at other times of the year depending upon weather.

I think the display lawn was laid out in about 1977, this after the old lion house had been demolished and the site cleared and landscaped.
