I will be leaving the West Midlands in March so will be doing a last visit to some of my local collections but hope to fit in a few new ones before moving.

Has anyone got any information on the following, any species they hold and what to expect from the collection.

AKAMBA TROPICAL HOUSE – SOLIHULL
RAYS FARM COUNTRY MATTERS – BRIDGENORTH
SMALL BREEDS FARM PARK & OWL CENTRE – KINGTON
THE OWL SANCTUARY – HAUGHTON
STRATFORD BUTTERFLY FARM – STRATFORD-UPON-AVON

Very short on info for species on the old internet for these collections if no-one as been to these collections will update with a small review and a species list in the near future.

I have been to the ones in Kington and Stratford, but a fair old while ago, so can't really help with specifics about species. I know I had lots of fun feeding the various goats and sheep at Kington, and the owls were particularly interesting, but I can't remember much else. I shall have to go back soon and rectify that.

AKAMBA TROPICAL HOUSE will be visiting here tomorrow 16th December will hopefully put a small review on here as this collection as far as I am aware as not been covered before.
The review will consist of species seen and in which area I saw them (like my birding reviews), as I can work out from there web site it's a very small collection consisting of a small reptile house and a small bird walk through.
It appears to have a small African style café with African food (never tried before so looking forward to this part), a shop with many styles of African Art.
Directions for those interested are as follows -

Train to Whitlocks End -
walk towards Tilehouse lane
turn right onto Tilehouse lane then left onto Tythe Barn Lane
The collection is within a Garden centre on the Left side about 5 minutes walk along Tythe Barn Lane (number 219)
