Los Angeles Zoo & Botanical Gardens Los Angeles Zoo News 2019

I will be visiting the LA Zoo for the first time (visiting all the way from Wisconsin) and am very excited about the opportunity to see a bald uakari. Are Daisy on the white saki-faced on exhibit in the Uakari exhibit in Rainforest of the Americas, or someplace else?
Also, about how long would people say it takes to go through the entire zoo?

Also if you have a chance go see the bird show. Frequently there is a California condor in it.

@DavidBrown is correct about the uakari’s location and the time it takes to see it all. Some highlights to see there are: Rainforests of the Americas which has spectacular homes for the giant river otters and jaguars, the LAIR which houses some very amazing reptiles and amphibians to surely enthrall herpetology enthusiasts, and Elephants of Asia where it’s size and different yards for the elephants are amazing to take in. In regards to individual exhibits, these are musts from my experience: Francois Langurs, Chimpanzees, Western Lowland Gorillas, African Wild Dogs, Orangutans, Aviary, Australia House home to Wombats, and Snow Leopards. My best advice would be to arrive as soon as they are open, the LAIR gets more packed due to its smaller size so maybe visit it first if you truly want to see a fantastic reptile/amphibian house.

Thanks for the info/advice everyone! I'll keep it all in mind during my visit :)

I agree with Julio on everything except going to LAIR first - you have the advantage of going in cool weather, but I'd still book it to the jaguars and snow leopards first to give yourself the best chance of seeing them awake and active. Same goes for the gorillas and wild dogs, actually - Tends to be the beginning and end of the day. When you pass the Golden Road pizza shop, turn up the hill to the right.

The LAIR animals tend to be evenly active during the day. If you happen to go on a Sunday, don't miss the Tasmanian devil feeding.
