Visited today and discovered that the uanaco have left the collection and the Vicuana are now in with the Rheas, also the Pouched Rats and Red-necked Wallaby have left the collection.
Pleasing to hear then, the Vicuna needed more space than what they had and the Guanaco were suppose to leave about 4 years back anyway.
Im suprised about the Wallabies since they zoo recently brough in a male didnt they? Will the Emu follow then or are they gone already? Or is the zoo bringing in a rarer wallaby species, cross fingers they are.
I'm pleased for the vicuna. I always felt that the tapir enclosure didn't suit them - it got awfully muddy in the winter. I think we will now be able to see them better too.
