Contrary to some threads, wich deal for example for Mammals in Australian or New Zeland zoos, I will make some list of mammals (species or subspecies) that you can not see in European zoos, since there are animals from a lot of species/subspecies kept in European zoos.

Any corrections/additions are highly welcomed...

Maybe you can narrow this question down into something useful or fun, like: What mammal species that is not currently present in European zoos would people like to see imported?
Otherwise, a lot of people who may or may not be getting a little weary of the sheer tide of threads you are generating, some of which are genuinely interesting and some very much the opposite, may or may not just copy and paste lists of hundreds of species of bats, rodents and post-Groves ungulates into the comments below.

Last time I checked Belgium was in Europe.... so what is the point of you choosing to list this taxon if you readily admit they *are* in Europe, unless you're actively trying to annoy people and get them to participate in your threads?

I hope so one day, they will be well represented in captivity. I hope so more zoos to be estabilshed who will hold these species. I wish for every 10,000 km2 of destroyed forest or savana, a new modern zoo to be estabilshed..
 
I do wish we could go easy on the newer members and their enthusiasm, yes maybe they are flooding the site with questions, why not, it opens discussions and can sometimes promote debate.
 
As you say Nikola, there are a lot more which aren't displayed in Europe. Those which aren't currently displayed far outnumber those which are. A list of all of these might be a little too difficult to negotiate and practically read; perhaps it might be easier to qualify the list slightly - limit it to a group of mammals, or add further detail - such as those which haven't been kept for over 100 years, for instance. :)

Yes you are right. For example there are more than 900 species of bats! I picked up more notiable mammals. I just visited ZooTierliste and saw wich more notiable mammals are not any more exibited in Europe, and finding of wich mammals species were not kept for over 100 years would be difficult.

It was only a suggestion for a way to make it more specific :)
