A male mandrill has been born at Adelaide Zoo recently. This is the second mandrill birth in the last 6 months. If the zoo posts a link I will put it here.

In other news the 2 male hyacinth macaws are now on display in the new South America aviary, along with currently a red-bellied macaw (new to the zoo) a blue-crowned conure (new) brown-throated conures (new), yellow-crowned amazons and sun conures. More birds are to be added in the future.

I haven't been there for a while, and it's one of my favourite Aussie zoos.

For that reason I really enjoy your occasional updates about the place, Electus Parrot. Thanks a lot.

Are those two old flamingos still going OK?
 
Yes, both flamingoes are still alive but as one of them is over 80 I fear that there may not be a whole lot of time left for them.

Some other news:
New species to the zoo are green-winged pytilias (a finch species from Africa) and pearly conures.
Recent births include Gippsland water dragons, eastern long-necked turtles, pygmy marmosets, cotton-top tamarins and a black-capped lory.
The Rosenberg's monitors are now on display in one of the old otter exhibits.
Also the female razor-billed curassow at adelaide has officially become the last one in Australia after the one at taronga passing away, see her while you still can!

Where did the green-winged pytilias come from?
 
Most likely a bird dealer somewhere in South Australia. Most of the new parrots come from customs, but I don't think that the pytilias would.
