Meig's Point Nature Center is a small facility in Hammonasset Beach State Park on the Connecticut shoreline. While Meig's Point is better known as an excellent birding spot for migrating shorebirds, the Nature Center is an excellent educational resource and is home to a variety of native animals. There are three zones with live animals.
In the Air
In the Air constitutes the entrance lobby and is home to two birdcages.
In the Woods
This is a small but very cool aquarium with a range of fresh and saltwater fishes. However, the signage here is very scare. I'm listing only the animals I could identify but note that this is about half of the animals in the room. There are large tanks along the walls, and a touch tank in the middle of the room.
