This thread is to be a place were all members can talk about what Irish zoos, both open and closed were like in the past. I understand some places have changed quite a bit, quickly, so memories of those collections even from earlier this century are encouraged. Apart from the excellent books on Dublin Zoo's history (of which I own none, unfortunately) there seems to be little about the past of zoos in the country, in or out of the site.
