Merced's Applegate Park Zoo is a facility located in Merced, California. Species include American black bear, bobcat, Indian peafowl, red fox, mule deer, raccoon, emu, black-crowned night heron, Muscovy duck, Swainson's hawk, and coyote.

On July 2nd, 2021, the zoo announced they have acquired a (1.0) raccoon named Java.

On September 8th, the zoo announced they acquired a (0.0.1) Chilean rose tarantula named Iris which is now on exhibit.

On December 4th, the zoo announced that a local boy scout troop built a new domestic chicken coop which is now open to the public.

On December 5th, the zoo announced they debuted a new logo and slogan.

Also on December 5th, it was reported that the zoo released a new masterplan which changes include remodeling the old cougar exhibit for American black bears, a new year-round exhibit for desert tortoises, and turning the big pond area into a wetland exhibit.

They didn't really have a logo before, so that should help them with branding and appearing legit! They seem to be changing their name too, everything before was labeled Applegate Park Zoo. It's a nice logo, but might not translate well to small versions.
 
On May 1st, 2024, the zoo announced they acquired a (0.1) mourning dove named Cece which is on exhibit.

On July 17th, it was reported that the facility was looking for proposals from qualified teams to renovate the facility, which now includes renovating the screech owl exhibit, as well as new paths and drainage, among other changes.
