The Metropolitan police crime unit has been effectively axed. Criminal gangs will find it easier to smuggle endangered species and wildlife products. The wildlife charity Naturewatch Foundation has described it as"woefully wrong " The Met said that the force would still investigate from a centralised "function " but would not comment on what that would be.
Personally, I feel that this is a massive step back.
