Is a new programme starting tonight on channel 5 at 6pm.
It is presented by Michaela Strachan and profiles breeding programmes in zoos across the UK.

Just finished watching the first show from south lakes animal park and what a great show it was seeing the little baby Rhino was just so cute cant wait for the next one

West Midlands safari park tomorrow, what other collections will be featured?

I really enjoyed tonights episode, the scene with the rhino calf trapping its leg in her mothers horns was amazing, and the colour of the rhino too, a pinky red colour (is this a new sub species;)).

David Gill too seemed a very enthusiastic character too, this was also my first look at the park and to me it just seemed a little shabby, with those wooden walkways everywhere, they said at the beginning of the programme the park was only 12 acres big, this can't be true can it?

Having a browse of the five listings I think this is the collection list...

Mon 11th: South Lakes
Tues 12th: West Midlands Safari Park
Wed 13th: Marwell Zoo & Chessington
Thur 14th: Bristol Zoo & Noah's Ark Zoo Farm
Fri 15th: Highland Wildlife Park
Mon 18th: Woburn Safari Park
Tues 19th: Blackbrook Zoo & Drayton Manor
Wed 20th: Cotswold
Thur 21st: Five Sisters (including the albino skunk)
Fri 22nd: Knowsley Safari Park

As I have not visited South lakes I found the programme interesting . I was not aware of the important birth of the female babirusa baby - now that was a really cute baby ! How do they fit it all in 12 acres , particularly as the rhino/giraffe paddock looked quite big !

I also found the programme less irritating than Zoo Days from Colchester . The rest of the series should be interesting .

Camara angles can be very deceptive,as i found out when i saw Longleats Otter enclosure for the first time it looks alot bigger on the telly than in real life,as for South Lakes Rhino and Giraffe exhibit its at a guess about the same size as the Cottons at London may just a bit bigger.

Just watch the second show from wmsp enjoyed it seeing the Zebra give birth and the baby Addax wow those visters where so lucky

Tigerlemurguy, this is the schedule...

Tonight from Marwell, the birth of a giraffe as well as Grevy's zebra and the giant anteater pair, and the Sumatran tigers at Chessington.

I'm quite enjoying this series, it's nice to have a programme featuring lots of zoos instead of the whole series being in one location.

The radio times website gives a brief overview of what is featured in each episode: TV search results - Radio Times
I think the Paradise Wildlife Park features in Monday's show as well as Woburn.

Also a little photo album from the show on here: Michaela's Zoo Babies - Sky TV

I look forward to the rest of the series:)

wasnt seeing the baby aye aye great, sucha cutie i must say! how he cracked that coconut was genius, such a good idea to mix him with the dad!
