Minimum Enclosure Size.

Hi,

I'm looking for some guidelines or legislation dictating enclosure sizes. Preferably Australian, and say for a medium sized canid, or a Tasmanian devil. Obviously the species I'm thinking of isn't around anymore so I'm looking for an analogue.

I'm discussing the standards of care at Beaumaris at Queen's Domain, and an idea of how large the enclosures would be required to be today would be a great help.

I'm thinking anywhere from 50sqm+ would be good for a Tasmanian Devil, can you give an example of a medium-sized canid?

Thanks for the reply. I suppose a dingo possibly? I'm not sure. It'd need to be referable though, as I have to use a source to illustrate what I'm getting at. I've had a look, but no joy.

Dingos would be a large canine, but a medium-sized carnivore. I suppose around 1/2-acre/\ is appropriate for wolves and such type.
 
Thanks again. What I'm trying to get at though is some guideline or legislation that I can quote. As in 'the enclosure at Beaumaris was x by x, whereas today it'd be required/suggested to be y by y' (source, date).

On the Domain? I seriously doubt it. It's not particularly suitable, and that'd mean ripping up the remaining remnants of the old zoo, and I really hope they wouldn't do that. Plus it was a fuel depot for years, with huge great oil tanks all over the place. Maybe that'd make it a bit toxic? I don't know.
