Sunnybrook Park campground (Wadena) has a few whitetail and bison. Lakeview Park (Janesville) and Cold Springs Deer Park (Orr) each have a herd of whitetail. Bell Museum (St. Paul) just has a few herps, I think, but is a GORGEOUS natural history museum.

"Update June 2021:Our Zoo and Retail store are now OPEN!!! Our Hours are as follows:
Monday: Closed
Tuesday: Closed
Wednesday: 12 to 8pm (Zoo 1 to 7pm)
Thursday: 12 to 8pm (Zoo 1 to 7pm)
Friday: 12 to 8pm (Zoo 1 to 7pm)
Saturday: 12 to 8pm (Zoo 1 to 7pm)
Sunday: 12 to 8pm (Zoo 1 to 7pm)
Emily and Ed’s visiting hours, and hands-on opportunities, are from 4 to 8pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday; we look forward to meeting you!

Wildcat Sanctuary is not open to the public and their website makes it clear that the facility is impossible to visit. However, the enclosures actually look fairly decent for a typical American 'sanctuary'.
