We had a house fire in which two fire-men were needed . . . yet they had to bring three fire engines (most of the fire-men were having coffee)!

lucky no one got seriously hurt,
but I assume that being a firefighter is a seriously hard job, over hear in australia that is, being that high fire risks are often experinced in summer.

Good to hear that I wasn't the only one to be rescued off of a monorail this week.:)

No problem with fire risks in the UK at present , it hardly ever stops raining here in Wales , been like this since early July .

The comment about the rescued visitors being able to continue enjoying the rest of their visit made me chuckle. Here in the USA a percentage of them would be contacting their lawyer for compensation for their distress and fear!

"Two days after being stuck in the Bronx Zoo's skyfari for five hours, one couple is suing for $10 million. The Post reports Damien Foster and Nandi Taylor--who is pregnant-- suffered "psychological trauma" because they were stranded for hours over the "fang-baring, flesh-eating baboons." They were ultimately brought back to the ground by emergency workers using cranes for high-angle rescues, but Foster and Taylor's lawyer said his clients "didn't know if they were going to live or die." It's believed a strong gust of wind knocked a cable car's wheel off track, which then stopped all cable car movement"

I've just returned from Ireland, it rained most of the week over there.
