No, sorry, that was a bit misleading; he'd only been with one (Effie?) when I asked last week, though things might have moved on since then of course.

Bubbles I think you may have mistaken a old female gorilla for a male (old females will sometimes look like she has a silver back).

Ooops, sorry! I haven't seen gorillas before!

I saw 3 giraffes today (one adult and two part grown) otherwise I would agree with almost all of your report

I was thinking there might possibly be three, but by the time we'd made our way round to see them outside, maybe the third one had gone in!

but you missed a treat in the Blackburn Aviary, which is one of my favourite parts of the zoo - African pygmy geese, Mount Apo lorikeets, hooded pittas and (best of all) the blue-crowned lories.

I very much enjoyed your appreciative review Bubbles... but you'll have to come back because you missed so much! Especially the aardvarks in Animal Adventure, and yes, the Blackburn Pavilion.

I bet I did..but if I get a chance to go again, I'll head there first next time.


As far as the flash goes, I didn't use it inside where any animals were as I just didn't want to frighten them, (or get told off!), but that's maybe just me.. a silly, sensitive, old bat! lol
